This desk was commissioned by a local public library as part of the Library's Centennial Celebration. It is used as a workspace for the reference librarian. It needed to have lots of countertop space, work as a book check out register, be home to a high-quality printer, a computer station, and as an interlibrary loan drop off, and pick up station.
Special details include an extra-large, sliding, keyboard shelf so data cards can be stacked next to the keyboard. Also, the wire management needed to be thought through to make sure the electronics and their many wires were correctly positioned and functioned well. The black countertop cover was used to protect the white oak countertop. The drawers and metal file cabinets were added to increase the storage ability of the desk.
The dimensions of the table are about eight feet (244 cm) side to side, five feet (152 cm) front to back, and forty-eight inches (122 cm) tall. The countertop is about thirty inches (76 cm) tall.
It has been in place for many years and is doing well.
This desk is too big to ship via UPS. It needs to be delivered and installed by David. Please see the Shipping Policy page of this website or contact [email protected] for more information about purchase, delivery, and installation.
